So, After a much loooong and frustrating wait after Xmas break, we went in yesterday and much more details added this time around. Pretty impressive job considering the latest heatwave Melbourne had over the last couple of weeks with over 44 degrees temperatures consistently for more than a week.
House looks more finished with only little left to finish and really happy with the outcome except for few issues which the amazingly site supervisor agreed to get rectified.
Major improvements done this side of Xmas
1. Facade colors
2. Fixing taps, Baths, Shower rails, sinks etc
3. Fixing shelves in cupboards
4. Electricals almost finished
5. Tile grouting
6. Ducted heating vents
7. Security Alarm and sensors installed
Have mentioned few rectifications to the site supervisor which are under way to get the trades people back by next week. They are
Wrong tiles in Laundry splash back
Wrong color kick boards in kitchen
About 40 mm gap between kitchen overhead cupboards and splash back window where as they should flush with the window opening according to plans
Master Ensuite shower rail fixed in wrong position- this is the major disappointment so far considering the top dollars we paid for upgrading that and the feature tile strip there. Spoiled everything there but hopefully they will come up with a solution. Going to be a tricky/expensive rectification given that the plumbing points are also wrong.
Another major update we got from site supervisor is that he booked us in for final walk through (Practical Completion Inspection) on 7th of Feb and 2 weeks after we should have keys.
We have another brief walk through in exactly a week after i.e next tuesday, the 28th of Jan and we should have the following fixed by then hopefully.
1. Garage door
2. Rear garage roller door
3. Balcony tiles & railing
4. Spa bath installation
5. Ducted vacuum installation etc
And now the part that I like the most ... pictures...pictures....
All in all its all so exciting to see all our selections coming together. I think we have done a good job there. Pretty happy with everything we have selected except for one thing as I said before. Our floor tiles. We seriously think we should have spent a bit more to get nicer looking tiles or at least laminate flooring. But we wanted to stay strictly with in budget back then and those beautiful floor tiles had to go to stay back in the budget. But in hind sight that's the biggest mistake I would say in this whole process. Not that we can do anything about it now. Particularly me - I am still trying to get used to those tiles and soaking up that thought - saying to myself million times "its, OK,they are not that bad", but hey! OK next week more pictures... till then Bye Bye!

| powder room tiles close up, photo does not do it any justice to be frank, they are much more swish looking in reality. |
