So its all really happening here, we started to organize multitude of things preparing for our move. Yesterday we had a final walk through with our site supervisor which is basically our last chance before handover to raise any concerns/issues with the works/finishes etc. It took almost 3 and half hours and after that we spent quite a bit of time there taking photos / and just generally absorbing the thought that we will be living in this house in 2 weeks from now. Approximate handover date is expected to be 28th, subject to few other factors. Felt so good to be left alone in our very own sweet home , and my girl was super excited.
We organized curtains, school tours, leaves from work etc, but still a lot of things are pending in terms of preparing for the big move and works at home there after, stressful yet exciting times, and we are sure the stress has just began. This is when we miss both of our loving families :) who would have helped/guided us in everything if they were with us.
All the final touches have gone in except for few cosmetic issues and the master bedroom mirrored robe doors are not installed yet, caz of some supplier issue. Also the stove top, oven, rangehood and hotwater system also are not in, but they would normally install them at handover, as they are expensive items and we risk the house being broken into if they are in there before we occupy the property. But other than that pretty much everything is taken care of and is in good order.
We also raised how they did not leave the left over bricks on site while cleaning the site. Those extra bricks would have been very handy for garden edging and some little planter boxes, which we were planning near front pillars. They did leave the leftover tiles onsite which is good. Lets see what solution they would offer for bricks.
